Sadly the month of March has been a difficult one ending in the passing of my maternal grandmother. This coupled with other recent events have ended in me moving house and setting up my creative work and everything else that comes with the rest of my life (books and clothes mostly), it has also forced me to evaluate my chosen path in life. While I will not be moving away from creating I will be moving in a different direction to the one I had planned. There will still be artwork and writing for you to see, just a little more focused and initially a little less ambitious but as the saying doesn't go - 'All good things come to those who work stupidly hard on them.' Before everything went totally off-schedule I read an article about the famous red lettered Nasa logo nick-named the 'Worm' coming head-to-head with the more traditional 'Meatball' logo that Nasa employs and after seventeen years the Worm lost its battle and the Meatball was reinstated. I like both so have attempted to fuse them into one design, I tweeted it @NASA so go find it and favourite it for me, maybe Nasa will notice... maybe not. I hope your March has been better than mine and that your week is going well :)

While painting Nebula K.R. I realised that space imagery is something that I really admire but have rarely tried to emulate. Having enjoyed the film Interstellar immensely I remembered that the film posters didn't feature much in the way of space, I thought I'd make some tribute posters with some (hopefully) inspiring messages to go with the imagery.
This started as an exercise to see what I could do without using my tablet monitor and just about everything is done without using a pen interface (I spent 20 minutes with the pen on the blue nebula, tweaking it, not actually painting it in). I'm pretty pleased with what I've managed to put together so far.
Hope you've had a good weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead!

I've adjusted the header of the site to be smaller, diminishing the logo size and adding the aggressively posed Valla as a background image to all but the poetry gallery which now has it's own flavour thanks to a blue gradient background. In addition to the poetry page's visual tweaks there's a new poem called 'Stay and See' go read it and tell me what you think or don't, that's cool too. Hope you're having a good hump day!
